April Rain and my Red Umbrella

I wanted to flee
I had nothing but an April rain and a bright red umbrella for company
I took the skinny alley behind my house..
Through the garden of hanging bougainvillea..
I cared about my pink skirt..
I splashed as I stepped on a puddle...

I left my schoolbag back in the yard
A scary wind breathed my white ribbons far...
I lost my way as I passed by an old stable, I never saw before,
No horse in sight...
I cried, I was afraid, and the hills dint reply
My skirt was drenched, I felt so cold,
I had no one but an April rain and a bright red umbrella for company
